Top Katter staffer's international wave of success

Tweet about this post

KAP Leader and Federal Member for Kennedy Bob Katter has congratulated his indomitable Chief of Staff, Anne Pleash on not only being brave enough to attempt to swim the English Channel but also for being talented enough to complete the mighty challenge.

A very proud Mr Katter said, “Anne’s a super achiever. She’s a Mareeba/Normanton girl and every inch a North Queenslander. It was an extraordinary swim.

“She’s an outstanding person. She’s won the Humanities Prize and she was one of the principal people involved in the Domestic Violence – it’s not our game project.”

Mr Katter said he was tracking Ms Pleash’s swim online but had trouble using his computer, “and suddenly the dot disappeared and I didn’t know what had happened? I went to bed that night not knowing if she was dead or alive.”

The Member for Kennedy was stoked to hear that his popular staff member had completed the endurance swim but also admitted that he looks forward to her return to work.

“I can’t even keep my head above water. Anne’s workload means she’s just as much the Member of Parliament as I am these days.

“I have been so inspired by her that I’ve increased my swimming pool laps to six but always try not to knock my head on the way in.”

Well done, Anne.
