Australian kids should be encouraged to camp, fish and hunt
I can think of nothing more fundamentally Australian the teaching your kids or grandkids to go camping, fishing and hunting.
In fact, some of my most memorable moments have been pursuing such activities in the great outdoors - all of those things we've now been stopped from doing.
For too long namby pamby, in-bred, big city folks have told us what we can and can’t do.
We can’t light a fire to boil a billy.
Access to our natural wonderland is blocked with padlocked gates, bollards and warning signs.
Feral pigs roam and guard our walking paths, destroy our beautiful rainforest creeks and kill our native wildlife.
Fishing is prohibited.
Hunting is prohibited.
Rope swings into creeks removed.
Kids love nature, not just standing under trees, but actually catching dinner or going hungry, starting a fire or being cold, sleeping under the stars and washing in the creek.
If we don’t fight for our freedoms and fun soon we will forget…
I want Australian kids to be called to come inside for dinner when it gets dark… not turned into vegetables sitting for hours in front of a gadget.
