Katters divide over league loyalties
Does this duo of KAP MPs and Cowboys supporters include a pretender? Is there a wolf in sheep’s clothing?
Or a dolphin looking like a brahman?

KAP Hill MP, Shane Knuth, said for the first time ever he was torn over who to back in today’s NRL competition between the Redcliffe Dolphins and the North Queensland Cowboys.
Knuth, a very proud born and bred North Queensland, played his first football in Collinsville, then eight Foley Shields for Townsville A grade, 13 A grade games for the NQ Marlins and won two premierships in the Townsville District Rugby League Competition with the Charters Towers Miners and the Souths Bulls.
Knuth then transferred to Brisbane and played 97 games for the Redcliffe Dolphins.
Federal Member for Kennedy, Bob Katter, who was attending the game in Townsville with his State counterpart, Shane Knuth, said question remains…was Knuth barracking for the Cowboys or his old team where he was a superstar, the Dolphins?
Mr Knuth said, “They were great years (those years with the Dolphins), especially playing the last grand final ever in the Brisbane Rugby League competition before the Broncos came in, in 1987.
“I am probably more loyal in the sense of my roots, so I’d say I’ll back the Cowboys and wear the shirt tonight. But I might also be seen with a Dolphins cap too!”
