Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor,

My thoughts and friendship goes out to the 19 Innisfail locals at Healthier Great Green Way who have lost their jobs.

The Premier says he hasn’t got any money – typical.

The dually wasteful and spend-thrift Mr Premier is spending $51 billion while, just for fun, he takes 19 jobs away from the Healthier Great Green Way primary health care program.
They say they’ll replace the jobs, but I believe pigs will fly too.

Anyway, even if they do replace the jobs, shame upon them for destroying the lives of 19 good people for no purpose.

The Premier’s budget for 2014 is $51 billion, whilst the final budget of the ALP in 2012 was $46 billion.

When we, the Country/National Party, ran this state, it was with a budget of $8 billion in 1990, which equates to about $15 billion today.

The Premiers says he’s got no money, yet he can find nearly $1 billion to build himself a pleasure palace. The current offices are obscenely opulent… but they’re not good enough for Brisbane’s ex-mayor.

He also found another $2 billion to settle a petty fight between secondary and primary by moving Seventh Grade to secondary – again an obscene waste of money.

If the ALP were obscene spendthrifts at $46 billion, what would you call this mob spending $51 billion? Spendthrift doesn’t do it justice.
