Media Release
6 March 2017:Bans and restrictions on Australian firearms will increase under the changes proposed in the newly-published National Firearms Agreement. The Government very quietly released changes to the agreement last week.
KAP Member for Kennedy, Bob Katter will be making representations to the Prime Minister’s office over the continuing restrictions.
Mr Katter said, “The banning of more firearms under proposed new agreements is no surprise. Naturally the Police would like a situation where the people in uniforms are the only people allowed to have guns. And you can’t blame the Police for wanting a situation where no one but them has guns.
“But there are very few societies where the only people allowed to have guns are people in uniforms – (employees of Government). Almost all of the Communist regimes, Nazi and Fascist regimes and almost all of the Islamic fundamentalist governments would fall into this category. You’ve got to be very worried about any country where the only people allowed to have guns are the people in uniform.
“The laws in Australia even now, are so indefinite, so discretionary that people are getting scared to have guns.
“The “Lilac-lefties” are alive and well in the Liberal and Labor parties and I can assure you that all of the “Gangrenes” are not in the Greens Party. Qld in particular is one of the most restrictive societies on earth.
“As for me, I’m hiding my shanghai.”
