KAP Federal Member for Kennedy Bob Katter has launched a bitter attack against both sides of government labelling them “hypocrites” for their campaign promises to build dams and crack-down on foreign fly-in workers.

“This is nothing but hypocrisy.

“Remember, the LNP were there for 12 years and never built a kiddies wading pool let alone a dam. They never built a weir and never shovelled a load of concrete across the gutter.

“Of course now that the election has been called, once again they have come out making all sorts of promises to mask their prior failures.

“If the LNP intend to build 100 dams, the delivery of one dam will cost $400 million and I wonder where they think they will be getting $40 billion to fund 100 of them”.

Mr Katter also dismissed the ALP’s crack-down on 457 Visas for foreign fly-in workers as a political move that should have been made several years ago.

“When the LNP were at the helm up until 2006, they flew into Australia over 400,000 foreign workers and since the ALP took leadership we’ve passed over 500,000 jobs to foreign workers – that’s almost a million jobs that should have gone to hard-working Australians.

Mr Katter said “I plead with all Australians to focus on what the ALP/LNP haven’t done – judge their past performance – and I urge you not to be swayed by what they promise they will do as they campaign.

“The best advice I offer to all Australians is to turn your television off because what you are seeing is being influenced by the most outrageous hypocrisy”.
