MPs move to enshrine cash in legislation

FEDERAL MPs Bob Katter (Kennedy) and Andrew Gee (Calare) have introduced the "Keeping Cash Transactions in Australia Bill 2024" to parliament this week.
The proposed legislation would mandate that businesses operating in face-to-face settings accept cash payments for transactions up to $10,000.
Bob Katter MP stressed the importance of protecting financial independence: "The removal of cash as a payment option is an attack on personal freedom. If you rely solely on digital payments, you give banks and corporations total control over your money. This bill is about keeping power in the hands of the people.
"Removing cash erodes individual freedoms and places control in the hands of financial institutions. We must protect the right to use legal tender."
Mr Gee emphasised the bill's importance in safeguarding consumer choice, stating, "Australians should have the freedom to decide how they pay for goods and services. This bill ensures that cash remains a viable option for all.
"A cashless economy risks leaving millions of Australians behind. This bill ensures that everyone, regardless of where they live or their financial situation, has access to secure, reliable, and independent payment methods."
The bill addresses growing concerns about the decline of cash usage and aims to protect vulnerable populations who rely on cash for daily transactions.
With growing concerns over digital dependence and financial exclusion, this legislation presents a crucial step toward maintaining economic freedom and resilience in Australia.

Woke, identity politics is killing Australia. We’re free. We’re capable of responsibility. We know who we. We know what we want to do. Stop telling us what we can and can’t do, and who we should and shouldn’t be.
Mythical ‘tribal’ groups own millions of hectares across Australia. Sure these groups earn millions in administration, houses and limited community facilities are built, but no individual title deeds are ever available. Not one single First Australian can own their own house on community lands. They can’t renovate or improve with pride, they can’t start a business, they can’t use the equity in their house as collateral… they have absolutely no means to improve their families finances unless they leave the region they call home. Successive governments keep throwing money at these communities but they will not remove the economic handcuffs that would allow businesses to grow, and homes and businesses to be built with pride through hard work and sacrifice.

Our agricultural potential is huge. We have millions of hectares of land unutilised or under-utilised. Australians should be swimming in wealth …. NOT drowning in debt. Successive governments have slowed our economy to a grinding halt in a ruthless pursuit of a WOKE agenda. A REVOLUTION is coming… Australians are starting to fight back against the corporate and political elite that have sold and squandered our great Nation. It’s about time that government starts governing for the betterment of Australians or GET OUT and let the independent fighters that TRUELY represent their electorates and Australia have a go!!!!
