No, no, no – Katter tells tone deaf Commonwealth Bank

DEVOTED defender of cash Bob Katter has come out swinging after hearing of the Commonwealth Bank's introduction of a $3 assisted transaction fee and subsequent "change of approach".
"They're backpeddling but they're not even doing a good job of it," Mr Katter fumed.
Yesterday, the bank announced the forced transition of accounts and the introduction of a charge to face-to-face or phone transactions.
Today, the bank said they would pause the rollout of the fee and spend more time in consultation.
Mr Katter strongly rebuked the CBA, saying the multi-billion dollar bank was "tone deaf" and undeserving of the patronage of Australians.
"Where is their justification? A six-month delay is not enough. Stop this disgraceful conduct once and for all, and return to the safe and secure storage of peoples' money!
"This is an act of defiance and contempt for the people of Australia. The banks have been under attack over the cash issue – a very successful attack – and we've been surprised at how effective we've been.
"So, they're counter-attacking against the government who is moving to enshrine cash. But you and I are collateral damage; of course, they don't care.
"They're trying to make cash the enemy – but the shadowy suits in Sydney deserve to be in the crosshairs – sapping our accounts dry with fee upon fee upon fee.
"As far as I'm concerned, cash has always been legal tender, and the government needs to put a stop to this.
"The Treasurer must tell them NO. Nothing complicated – just NO – right? Can the government govern or not?
"I encourage every Australian who banks with the Commonwealth Bank to withdraw their hard-earned cash and take it elsewhere.
"The Commonwealth Bank was built to promote the interests of Australia, and right now some fat cat executives are just feathering their own nest."

Mythical ‘tribal’ groups own millions of hectares across Australia. Sure these groups earn millions in administration, houses and limited community facilities are built, but no individual title deeds are ever available. Not one single First Australian can own their own house on community lands. They can’t renovate or improve with pride, they can’t start a business, they can’t use the equity in their house as collateral… they have absolutely no means to improve their families finances unless they leave the region they call home. Successive governments keep throwing money at these communities but they will not remove the economic handcuffs that would allow businesses to grow, and homes and businesses to be built with pride through hard work and sacrifice.
